3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs which is found in the good book. DO YOU ENDANGER or BENEFIT OTHERS? FROM YOU, DO OTHERS BLEED or GROW?  “There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Proverbs 12:18). (Some people use their tongues like a sword; slashing away at others, cutting and causing pain. The wise person speaks words of health and healing, that is healing the wounds inflicted by the one who is a fool.) More than any other part of your body , your tongue can bring about more trouble or can do good. Wise men learn to rule their tongue and words to only help others. Do others love talking with you because it is pleasant and profitable? Or do others avoid you because they fear harsh and painful words? Scripture says: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21a). Cutting and unkind speech portrays a bitter and hateful heart. Gentle and kind words reveal a happy and loving heart. Speech can tear down or build up another. You can cut a person with your words, like the piercings of a sword, or you can heal and nurture him with kind and helpful words. Which are you best at? The New Testament provides a roadmap to acceptable speech. “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person” (Colossians 4:6). Speak respectfully. “Refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels” (2Timothy 2:23). If you want a real eye-opener, take a look at what Jesus said in Matthew 5:21-22. Start saying good, kind, and thankful things about all others, and you will find that many will want to be your friend. Your words identify you, friend or foe. Backbiting, slander, whispering, and talebearing create deep piercing wounds. If you criticize others to a person, that person assumes you’ll criticize him to them. Talk about others in a kind and respectful way, the way in which you would want others to talk about you. Speak to others as you want God to speak to you. *****

There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

The wisdom continues to unfold in Proverbs, righteous vs. wicked. SOMETHING GOD CANNOT DO and SOMETHING HE HATES! “He who speaks truth tells what is right, but a false witness, deceit” (Proverbs 12:17). (A witness who tells the truth in court gives righteous evidence. A false witness tells lies.) The God of the Bible, Creator of heaven and earth, is a God of truth. So much is He a God of truth, He cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18; Titus 1:2). God hates liars. We should all detest the sin of lying; and be governed by honesty. Have a blessed Sunday. *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

The book of Proverbs has much wisdom to offer for success in life. FOOLS ARE EASY to SPOT! “A fool’s anger is known at once, but a prudent man conceals dishonor” (Proverbs 12:16). (A fool doesn’t restrain his wrath. He blows up at the slightest provocation. A prudent man knows how to ignore insult and to exercise self-control.) A quick temper marks a fool, but the prudent men rule their spirit. It’s the poorly trained children that scream for little or no reason; they let their anger boil. It’s quickly visible in their faces and obvious in their speech. Like an unruly child, the foolish are quick tempered and prove they are fools by indecent expressions in words or behavior, and by not restraining their passions. Do not prove yourself immature to others by not being able to control and govern your emotions. Wise men restrain their spirits, stay calm, and control their reactions to any situation. New Testament scripture says: “But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God” (James 1:19-20). Fools react without thinking ; wise men think before reacting. Fools are controlled by their anger; wise men control their anger. A prudent man will think first and avoid the shame of hasty anger causing him to act foolishly. Rule your spirit; do not let it rule you. *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

From the Bible’s book of Proverbs: WISE and NOT! “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel” (Proverbs 12:15). (You can’t tell a fool anything. He knows everything and will not listen. But a wise man will welcome advice. He recognizes that it is impossible for one person to see all sides of a question.) Every fool thinks he is right! One’s own heart naturally rebels against any advice or ideas contrary to his own. The single best measure of wisdom is one’s ability to crush their own thoughts and receive instruction. Each man/woman must come to God and Scripture in total trust and submission. Fools listen to their hearts; wise men consult God’s word. Fools reject other’s instructions and warnings; wise men love and seek them. “Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil” (Proverbs 3:7). He shall direct your paths. *****

//Standing Prayer: Always remembering our country, for restoration, our continued peace, and freedom; we ask that You grant wisdom and guidance to those who are in authority, and we pray; and for the protection of our men and women who are on the battlefield, we pray. Lord, heal our land, we pray. There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

The book of Proverbs continues. SIMPLY PUT: JUST BE GOOD! “A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, and the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him” (Proverbs 12:14). (Good speech and good behavior carry their own reward with them. Wise, gentle, pure speech is rewarded with love, favor, and respect. Good deeds come back to a man in blessing.) Speaking right and doing right bring rewards. If you use your mouth for kind, spiritual and wise words, God and men will reward you with satisfying honors. In fact, the only speech that brings good and satisfying rewards is pure and wise speech. If you use your mouth foolishly to lie or boast, it will bring you trouble. The same is true with actions – things done with your hands. Only noble deeds bring good rewards. It’s not the good who die young, it’s the wicked! If you want to have a happy and long life, it is by speaking and doing good. Instead of despising good and wise men/women, love and follow them. Good speech blesses others when it’s from a good heart. A good heart also does good things. Good deeds are the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, righteousness, and truth. The Bible is God’s manual for successful living. Living His way will save you from the dysfunctional problems of this wicked world and will bring prosperity and success. Be good for God. *****

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who carries a heavy burden which is far too complicated to explain, we pray. “When I have been too weak to pray, I gained strength when others prayed for me. At times in my life when I just didn’t know what to say or how to pray, I just whispered, “Jesus” (by: Author, Kittye Sharron.) Note: A new category has been added below: It is titled, Just whispering, “Jesus!” Do you have a need today and just don’t know how to pray? Others will go on bended knee for you, dear one! Would love to hear from you, and then we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues with evil vs. righteous. CONSIDER WORDS BEFORE THEY COME OUT! “An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will escape from trouble” (Proverbs 12:13). (Ungodly people are often trapped by their own words. Often they trap themselves up by failing to tell a consistent story. A liar has to have a good memory; otherwise his accounts won’t mesh. And to support a lie he has to build a structure made from other lies. On the other hand, the righteous will come through their trouble. God does not promise His people freedom from all trouble, but rather that they will come through it.) RULE YOUR TONGUE! One’s mouth can get him/her into a lot of trouble, or can get one out of trouble. Do you find yourself thinking, “Why did I say that?” To avoid regret, one needs to think before they say anything. Wise speech begins in the heart and if you don’t learn to control and guard your tongue you will get yourself into much pain and trouble. It is so much better to think pure thoughts, reduce your words, slow your speech, and speak very carefully with an eye to the consequences. Judgement day will include every idle word you have spoken. Jesus said, “But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37). Grow in favor with God and man: Watch your mouth!

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has a burden and doesn’t know how to pray, we pray. “There have been times in my life when I just didn’t know what to say or how to pray, and so I just whispered, “Jesus” (by: Author, Kittye Sharron.) Note: A new category has been added below: It is titled, Just whispering, “Jesus!” Do you have a need today and just don’t know how to pray? Would love to hear from you, and we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs to compare righteous vs. wicked lives. “YO, BRO, GIMME, GIMME, GIMME! and I’LL TAKE THAT!” “The wicked covet the catch of evil men, but the root of the righteous yields fruit” (Proverbs 12:12). (The catch of evil men implies what is taken unjustly from others; in other words, the wicked covet what belongs to others. The opposite is true for the righteous; they are satisfied to provide quietly for their own needs.) The wicked do not care what affect their greed, selfish, envious, malicious ambitions and actions have on others. Their goal is to get what they want with no regard for their victims. Wickedness is driven by continually thinking up ways in which to snare and harm others, and take away what they have, but the wicked are never satisfied and are intent on using other people for selfish goals. The righteous are different. The fruit they bear offers peace to others by the way in which they live their lives. They understand the purpose of a bible believing church and the importance of helping one another. If they  use nets it’s to become fishers of men for Christ’s sake, as explained in the gospel of Matthew. (See Matthew 4:19).  Yo, what are you fishing for, my brother, my sister? What fruit do you bear? Are you a tree of life to others? Do others benefit by your loving help? OR, Is your hand reaching out to take what belongs to another, as in “gimme, gimme, gimme”? For Christ’s sake, don’t be a gimme, be a giver! The greatest evidence and measure of a child of God is love of others, which proves your love of God. Only faith that works by love is worth anything (Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26). Love others; give them what you have in your heart so that they, too, may have eternal life.*****

Lord, heal our land, we pray. There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.
And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has a burden and doesn’t know how to pray, we pray. (Note: Just whisper, “Jesus!”)

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues – right vs. wrong. EASY STREET FOOL! “He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who pursues worthless things lacks sense” (Proverbs 12:11). (The man who engages in positive, constructive work, like a farmer, will have his needs supplied. But the man who spends his time in worthless pursuits not only has an empty cupboard but also an empty head!) If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true! Only fools believe those worthless lies; wise men scoff at them. There is no free lunch or easy money! Get-rich-quick ideas typically leads to poverty. But, any lawful, legitimate job pursued diligently, with God’s rules applied, will work! Faithful, hard work is the secret to success!

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has thoughts of suicide, we pray. Life is precious; don’t throw it away. Call out to Jesus, and pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs – righteous vs. wicked. HOW WELL DO YOU TREAT ANIMALS? “A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, but even the compassion of the wicked is cruel” (Proverbs 12:10). (A righteous man’s kindness extends even to dumb animals, but a wicked man is cruel, even when he thinks he is being most gentle.) Although God is transcendent (most high), He is not too high to care for animals, but legislates concerning them (Exodus 20:10, 23:4,5). He even legislates concerning a bird’s nest (Deuteronomy 22:6). A good man is merciful; he is gentle and kind; he is ruled by pity and compassion; he will not be mean or hard. But the wicked are cruel; even their kindness is harsh, for they lack the tender, gentle spirit of the righteous man, who is concerned even for animals. The wicked are not kind and merciful; they are like their master the devil. (The lesson is this: righteous men are tender, gentle, compassionate, and merciful; but the wicked are hard, harsh, inconsiderate, and cruel.) If one wants to be like Jesus instead of the devil, they must learn gentle kindness. One will receive back the same mercy and compassion given, so it is important to show compassion, kindness, mercy, and gentleness to oneself and to others. Oh, Lord, You are compassionate and merciful to us every day. If one is a child of the King, then that one should show tender mercy to all persons, even to the lowly animal. Have a blessed Sunday. *****

There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.
And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has a difficult time controlling their temper, we pray.

Devotions @ 3 on 11-3-18

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues in contrasting righteous and wicked. ALL SHOW – NO GO; SIMPLE is BETTER! “Better is he who is lightly esteemed and has a servant than he who honors himself and lacks bread” (Proverbs 12:9). One’s image is worth little! (The combination of low rank and food on the table is better than pretended status with starvation.) This is a very relevant proverb in which we see two men. The first is despised by the world, for he does not make the splashy show the world values. He is a simple, hardworking man, who prefers peace and quiet at home to any worldly party or popularity. By hard work he has achieved a modest measure of comfort and success – he has a servant for companionship and labor. The second man is popular and flashy, always seeking the approval and limelight of the world. He moves in the popular circles in town and presents himself as charming and successful wherever he can. But his image is all show, for he is basically broke, especially if his debts were paid! Thinking work is beneath him, he lives mainly for image. The simple, honest man is better than the pretentious fool. So many fall victim to temptations: peer pressure is powerful; easy credit makes it possible to live beyond one’s means; and corrupt bankruptcy laws allow pretenders to start over when debtors claim their assets. True success is working hard, enjoying simple domestic pleasures, and living a contented and godly life. Modest possessions with love, peace, and righteousness are better than even wealth with trouble. Wise men ignore what the world thinks; they will NOT use foolish debt to buy nice things beyond their means. They choose the lower seat in public life. Frequent divorces, substance abuse, and dysfunctional lives expose the lifestyles of the rich and famous. The lie of image does NOT pay; it destroys men. The New Testament says: “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever” (1John 2:15-17). Many persons, especially the young, waste and wound their lives worrying about what others think, though it means nothing in terms of real value. What God thinks of you is far more important than what the world thinks.

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has a difficult time praying for others, we pray. (This is probably not the website they should be on! 🙂
