IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD! THE GENE THAT STUMPED THE DOCTORS by: Kittye Sharron

True story: Amy Kayleen (a.k.a. Kittye Sharron) already struggled with the secret memory of a major childhood trauma, whereby, when only 8 years old, she fell victim to a pedophile. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the day after her first child was born, in 1968, she began a perilous medical journey to rid herself of a new problem. She had begun to perspire profusely for no apparent reason.

She was so hot and, to get relief, she slept in a bathtub of cold water. During the course of 6 1/2 years over 21 different doctors concluded: “It’s all in your head; nothing medically wrong!”

In 1974, a new doctor diagnosed a rare, hereditary condition which caused extreme sweating and elevated blood pressure; a tumor was somewhere in her body, but back then no CT scans nor MRIs were available. Exploratory surgery was the only option and the 26 year old mother was given a 50/50 chance of survival. Medical history was made but, that was only the beginning of more medical breakthroughs.

This author shares the secrets to her hairstyle, her persistence and, the development of her faith which spread out over 50+ years. Herein lies the story of the gene that stumped the doctors!
