3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

CATCHING MEN OFFERS GREAT REWARDS! “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls” (Proverbs 11:30). (A righteous life is like a fruit-bearing tree that brings nourishment and refreshment to others. The wise man wins others to a life of wisdom and righteousness.) This passage reminds us of the promise which Jesus made to Peter. “Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men” (Luke 5:10). What an unspeakable privilege it is to be used by God in doing a work in human lives that will result in eternal blessing! Each and every person will die one day. But, every soul which has been won to the Lord will be a worshipper of the Lamb of God, and will live forever and ever! The believer is seen as righteous because of what Christ did at Calvary (Romans 4:5). The fruit of the believer is souls. And for every believer, Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). It is a believer reproducing himself, and the fruit reproduced will be another believer. Increase your fruitfulness; tell someone else about Christ and God will reward you! *****

//Standing Prayer: Always remembering our country, for restoration, our continued peace, and freedom; we ask that You grant wisdom and guidance to those who are in authority, and we pray; and for the protection of our men and women who are on the battlefield, we pray. Lord, heal our land, we pray. There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.
And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has the responsibility of helping another get through life, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

INHERITANCE BENEFITS as WORTHLESS as the WIND! Besides the obvious, sinfulness, there are many ways to trouble one’s own house: Selfishness, fretfulness, idleness, laziness, a hasty temper, violence, irritableness, recklessness, perpetual assertion of authority, wastefulness, ill-natured, impulsive, falsely accuses, just to name a few. To trouble one’s own house is evil and it breaks the peace of the domestic circle. A child generally bears the same image as his/her parent. “He who troubles his own house will inherit wind, and the foolish will be servant to the wise hearted” (Proverbs 11:29). (There are several types of men who trouble their own house. For instance: the drunkard, the crank, and the adulterer. But in this passage, in his mad quest for wealth, it is the man who is greedy of gain and who loses sight of the worthwhile values of life . He will inherit the wind, and what used to be his will blow through his fingers; that is, he will gain only trouble and will end up empty, with nothing tangible to satisfy his greed. His penalty is being a servant to a wiser man.)  A man’s primary obligation is to be a blessing to his family, but by troubling his own house, a man brings poverty on himself as well as his family. Such a troubler is a fool. Nothing can be gained by inheriting the wind. The same is true with one who lives without the gospel, denies God, just to accumulate worldly benefits. His inheritance is blowing in the wind. *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

TRUST IN YOUR MONEY and DOWN YOU GO! “He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like the green leaf” (Proverbs 11:28).  (Riches are uncertain and therefore not worthy of trust. Our confidence should be in the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy.) From the New Testament: “Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed” (1Timothy 6:17-19). Riches will fail us when we are in the greatest need. He that trusts in them, as if they would secure him the favor of God and be his protection and portion, shall fall. Because of their uncertainty, worldly focus on riches prevents trusting in the living God. The righteous, that is, those whose trust is in the Lord, will flourish with life and vitality like foliage. Have a blessed Sunday. *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs to compare right from wrong. CHOOSE SUCCESS or FAILURE! “He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who seeks evil, evil will come to him” (Proverbs 11:27). (When a man’s motives are pure and unselfish, he wins the esteem of others. But the man who is out to cause trouble for others will get it for himself.) Success or failure…which will you choose? The key is how you treat others. If you do good to others, you will be blessed. If you are selfish and hurt others, critical and negative, bitter, envious, or sow discord, then you are in for a painful and troubled life. What goes around really does come around! But don’t pride yourself into thinking you will just keep to yourself, there is no blessing in that. The favor of God is on those who ‘diligently seek good’. A wonderful life with happy days is for those who aggressively seek to help and serve others. Your life is a waste if you are not a servant. New Testament scripture: “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the ‘household of the faith'” (Galatians 6:10). And, Matthew 5:43-48, reminds us to do good even to our enemies. You are alive to do good, to serve. You are not alive to have good done to you or to be served by others. Who will benefit today from your life?

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who is suffering with dizziness and lightheadedness, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues, right vs. wrong. TRUTHS and WISDOM for the BUSINESSMAN! “He who withholds grain, the people will curse him, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it” (Proverbs 11:26). (The selfish man keeps his grain off the market in a time of famine, hoping for greater return as the price is forced up. He is hungry for profit, enriching himself by starving others. No wonder the people will curse him! They want someone who will meet their desperate need now.) God rejects making gains at the expense of others. It is wrong to corner a market in a commodity for profit. (Example: A farmer with an advantage in corn must sell it at a reasonable and moderate price. To hold it for higher prices, when the poor depend on it, is wrong.) The world is perishing for the bread of life. That bread is free and always will be. We have it to share with others. What are we waiting for? Blessing will be on the one who “sells the grain”; that is, who spreads the good news of the gospel. One will never hurt himself, or lose, by being generous, merciful, and kind. Those who give to the poor are lending to the Lord, and He always repays well. Help yourself!  *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues comparing right from wrong. MORE of GOD’S MATH! “The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered” (Proverbs 11:25). (The generous person reaps dividends that the miser can never know.) The equation: 1 + 1 = Whatever good we do for others returns to us in blessings; for when we give liberally, cheerfully and plentifully, we get it back abundantly from God. *****

//Standing Prayer: Always remembering our country, for restoration, our continued peace, and freedom; we ask that You grant wisdom and guidance to those who are in authority, and we pray; and for the protection of our men and women who are on the battlefield, we pray. And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who is missing their dear father who now resides in heaven, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs compares right from wrong. GIVE to GET – WEALTH BUILDING SECRET USING GOD’S MATH!  This is a financial secret from the God of heaven for His people. “There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want” (Proverbs 11:24). (One gives freely and gains even more, another withholds and comes to poverty.) Giving away financial assets to godly causes will increase your net worth, while holding back money leads to poverty. Old Testament scripture, Ecclesiastes 11:1-6, tells us to “cast your bread upon the waters by giving it away, for it will come back to you sometime in the future by God’s blessings. New Testament scripture: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; as it is written, ‘He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.’ Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; you will be enriched in everything for all liberality; which through us is producing thanksgiving to God” (11Corinthians 9:8-11). We enrich ourselves by being generous. We impoverish ourselves by laying up treasures on earth. What we save, we lose. What we give we have. Fools think they have to look out for number one, meaning themselves, and only give to God a little of what is left. If nothing is left God gets nothing. Wise men also look out for number one, meaning God Himself. They give to God first, and live on whatever is left. The blessed God of heaven sees the different spirit and rewards them accordingly. The secret is: ONE CANNOT AFFORD NOT TO GIVE!

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who is missing their dear mother who now resides in heaven, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues to compare right from wrong. GET WHAT YOU GO AFTER; COUNT on IT! “The desire of the righteous is only good, but the expectation of the wicked is wrath” (Proverbs 11:23). (Righteous people aspire only for good and they get it. The wicked seek for evil and they get it in the form of wrath or judgment.) It is important to have worthy goals, because ultimately we get what we go after in life. Each one of us are bound for Heaven or Hell! What is your future?

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who is need of prayer, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs, right vs. wrong; or opposites attract. BIZARRE BEAUTY! “As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion” (Proverbs 11:22). (A pig’s snout is as unattractive as the ring is lovely.) A beautiful woman who lacks discretion also combines two opposites – physical attractiveness and moral deficiency. Not pretty; her beauty will be put to wrong uses. Just as a gold ring has no place in a pig’s snout, improper conduct has no place in a truly, inside and out, beautiful woman.

And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone with a loved one who is spiritually lost, we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in Proverbs, comparing right from wrong. TWO THINGS are CERTAIN in THIS UNCERTAIN WORLD!  “Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be delivered” (Proverbs 11:21). (Two things are certain: the punishment of the wicked and the deliverance of future generations of the righteous.) The choice is simple. God will deliver and help godly men and their families. But He will crush the wicked, no matter how large and powerful they become. The choice is ours: be righteous or be wicked; but the results are certain, there is no escape. Future punishment is certain, if not living for God. To be godly or wicked affects children and grandchildren. The Old Testament says, “You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments” (Exodus 20:3-6). Choose to follow after God; your descendants will thank you for it. Have a blessed Sunday! *****

There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.
And so we begin, “Just for Today”: For anyone who has uncontrolled pain, we pray.
