3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues: right from wrong. SAVING TRUTH! Knowing God and His work saves righteous men from the evil work of the hypocrite. “With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered” (Proverbs 11:9). (A hypocrite seeks to undermine the faith of his neighbor with doubts and denials. Knowledge of the truth enables the righteous to detect the counterfeit, and to save himself and others from destruction.) Learning the Bible and walking in the way of the Lord will save you. You will learn the right way to live, discover God’s will from the scriptures, and you will not be led astray by anyone. *****

3 a.m. prayer:
Most gracious heavenly Father,
Continuing in Proverbs: right vs. wrong. PICK A SIDE! “The righteous is delivered from trouble, but the wicked takes his place”(Proverbs 11:8). (God delivers the righteous from trouble and sends it upon the wicked instead.) God blesses and favors those who obey Him, and He judges and punishes those who do not. For those who are on the Lord’s side, He will protect and prosper them, but He will despise and destroy His enemies. Strive to live a godly life for Him! Does this mean I will have no troubles? No! It means God has promised to deliver you from those troubles. The righteous often find themselves in a hopeless situation. The wicked are sometimes involved in persecuting them in their troubles, but God does a reversal and leaves the wicked to destruction. There is a reward for the righteous. *****

3 a.m. prayer:
Most gracious heavenly Father,
Proverbs continues to compare right from wrong. WHEN THE COFFIN LID CLOSES! There is no way out; regardless of how powerful during life, with the wicked their hopes die with them; there is no second chance! “When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, and the hope of strong men perishes” (Proverbs 11:7). (A fool’s plans end at the grave; when the coffin lid closes all his hopes are ended. The things he lived for are no longer his, and his expectation of prosperity is gone forever.) For the wicked, there is no hope in his death. On judgement day when the unjust stand before Jesus, He will declare: “I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness” (Matthew 7:23).*****

Most gracious heavenly Father,
The Bible’s book of Proverbs continues: right vs. wrong. “The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the treacherous will be caught by their own greed” (Proverbs 11:6). Those who do right are saved by their righteousness. Have a blessed Sunday. *****

3 a.m. prayer:
Most gracious heavenly Father,
Continuing in Proverbs, comparing right and wrong. WALK STRAIGHT or CROOKED! “The righteousness of the blameless will smooth his way, but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness” (Proverbs 11:5). (The blameless man is directed by righteousness, the ideal guide. The wicked man will fall, a victim of his own wickedness.) The blameless man is not faultless, but has an upright standing with God, and is perfect in Christ. The wicked are evil-doers who have chosen to follow a crooked walkway; they will stumble and fall into ruin and destruction, into hell and damnation, because of their own sinful ways.  *****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Continuing in the good book, out of Proverbs, with the comparisons of right vs. wrong. GRAB HOLD OF RICHES or RIGHTEOUSNESS! “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death” (Proverbs 11:4). (In time or eternity, riches cannot prevent the wrath of God, wealth is of no profit. In the here and now, righteousness is a safeguard against premature death. On the day one faces death, only those who are clothed in the righteousness of God will be rescued from eternal death.) The place of greatest peace and provision is daily walking in God’s will for our lives. *****

3 a.m. prayer:
Most gracious heavenly Father,
Proverbs continues with contrasts between right and wrong! GUIDED by INTEGRITY or CROOKEDNESS! “The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them” (Proverbs 11:3). (The integrity of upright people will guide them on the right track. The crookedness of the unfaithful is their downfall.) The wise man strives to do right, looks for integrity in leaders, and desires it for oneself. Commit to this: Honesty! It is still the best policy. *****
//Standing Prayer: Always remembering our country, for restoration, our continued peace, and freedom; we ask that You grant wisdom and guidance to those who are in authority, and we pray; and for the protection of our men and women who are on the battlefield, we pray. There are people in other parts of the world who need protection and relief as they are surrounded by war and poverty; also in need of rescue are Christians who are being persecuted, and we pray.

3 a.m. prayer:
Most gracious heavenly Father,
Proverbs continues with contrasts between right and wrong! WHAT IS RIGHT; WHAT IS WRONG? Show Humility; Be Submissive to God and Man! “When pride comes (arrogant attitude of self-importance) then comes dishonor (emptiness and shame), but with the humble (those who are teachable and have gone through trials and have learned to walk humbly with God) is wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2). (First, pride, then a fall; then comes shame connected with the fall. But to the humble and down-to-earth the danger of stumbling is greatly reduced.) A man’s pride will bring him low for it leads only to shame and disgrace, but wisdom remains with humble people.*****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

Proverbs continues: The contrasts between right and wrong! EVERY DAY BUSINESS and HOW WE STAND BEFORE HIM! “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight” (Proverbs 11:1). (Crooked merchants sometimes had two sets of weights, one for buying and one for selling. The buying weights were heavier than they should have been, so that the buyer got more merchandise than he paid for. The selling weights were lighter than the standard, so that the customer got less than he paid for.) There are dishonest practices in business today that come under this ban of dishonest scales, as well as applications in school life, social life, home life, and church life. God is interested in the business world and the practices within it. When He calls something an abomination – our best wisdom is to steer clear of such things – because these things will get you judged quickly, and the discipline will come hard. If we want God’s blessing we must choose to act according to what would please Him. Honesty is the best policy.*****

3 a.m. prayer:

Most gracious heavenly Father,

The Bible’s book of Proverbs continues: The contrasts between righteous and wicked lives! “The mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom (wise counsel; proper fruit), but the perverted tongue (not wisdom, but folly and wickedness) will be cut out. The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverted” (Proverbs 10:31-32). A good man’s mouth is like a tree that brings forth blossoms of wisdom; speaks wisely for the benefit of others. Speech that is crooked or perverse will be cut out; it is sin and will be the ruin of many a wicked man. One can depend on a good man/woman to say what is acceptable. The wicked one knows only how to distort the facts and speak what is perverse and displeasing to God. The righteous is kept by the power of God; and nothing can separate him from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. How are you using God’s gift of speech? *****
